LO1 task 1: KTA 3/5: Five pieces of graphic design- full analysis

The design of this poster is very childish. It can relate to a young audience as well as being designed and drawn well therefore, its also appreciated by a older audience. The poster has been deigned to be iconic, having a 1920s to 1930s feel about it. Art deco was really famous in America at that period in time. The festival is held in Washington and has a mixture of modern and vintage bands playing so it can relate to a younger audience as well.
The bands playing are from a older generation to what you would expect from the design of the poster, I believe that the aim of the poster is to try to make the viewer feel that little bit younger again.

The poster for this is very modern as it has used colours that don't usually work well together and changes your opinion as they mix well and go together nicely. The designer of this poster has also been smart with the main eye catching picture logo in the centre of the poster. The designer has used a lolly pop stick as the neck of the guitar which gives us a clue of what may be showing at the event.
The design of the lolly pop has also been drawn to make it look as if its melting which shows the events organises expect it to be a hot day.
The Zero Fest is also international, so its more likely to be held somewhere warm rather than in England. They have used a variety of fonts and font sizes from the name of the festival to the sponsors and less important information at the bottom of the poster, intended to be smaller to give more room to the more important part and the chunk they want you to pay the most attention to.

The Purpose of this poster is to attract any one who likes drinking to attend this festival specifically organised to have alcohol as there main attraction and theme at this festival as it also has a beer or alcohol related sponsors in "BrewHouse"
The format of this poster is simple and presents its self well showing in the poster everything it says its going to have available at the gathering and not overcrowding the space left in the poster with things that may confuse the viewer of not give them enough time to understand whats going on in the poster.
It shows all the correct information which the viewer may want to know before attending like
  • The time and date
  • Ticket price
  • where to buy the tickets
  • the website name
  • the address
  • tel number
the poster has a relaxed feel about it not overcrowding the poster with objects they wouldn't need and leaving space to give the feel of space.
the poster has a target audience of anyone who is over the legal drinking age ( 18+) but manly audience of 35+ males as there more likely to drink beer than anything else like Vodka, wine etc.

The poster for this festival may show all information needed to attract the viewer but theres two much information, colours and images on the page to understand the concept fast as for those who might see it driving wont have time to read and look at everything as theres two much.
the poster uses a verity of different colours to represent the rock and roll theme like red, yellow and black which all show and represent different things.
the style of this poster is very 1960s and is a very old rock and roll theme relating to Elvis which also might relate to his generation or those who may into his music and era.
the poster all all the correct information you need to aware of the festival but packs the poster with two much other stuff.

The poster  has a layer to colour that symbols the the brightness of the sun and also shows the spectrum of colour and relates to a very wide audience as its very simple and only uses one style of font but just increases and decreases in size which creates effect as its simple and smart but very affective.
the text is angled to show effect and to break up the writing.
all the correct information is shown and its all spaced out to give each paragraph of text some space.
the main central part of the poster they want you to look at is easy to spot as the designer of the poster has put a circular logo or design around the text which is also the biggest font size to make it easy to spot.
