LO2 task 2: KTA 9: analysis of successful related brands

This is just one of the brands that i have taken inspiration from having a simple but special logo i used there design ideas and tried to make my logo simple but striking at the same time.

I also used this image from Starbucks as inspiration for my work, with there being a really simple colour scheme i decided to try (drafts) to see if i could make a image a mixture of simple and using one significant colour to make it gain as much attention as a really bright and colourful image would.

I used this image as inspiration because its modern and i really wanted to work with this "blocky"style in my logo. i played around with different but modern techniques like curves and solid items but i really like this style just because is big and eye catching.

LO2 Task2: KTA6: Brief and moodboard and imaginary Entity

KTA6 steel city festival brief and target audience

as apart of our work we will be designing

  • A logo
  • A Ticket Design
  • A A5 Flyer for the event
  • A billboard poster
I have chosen these ways to promote the festival I will be designing as it suites me best as i can express my arty side and focus more on the end product for each of these 4 advertising movements instead of making the viewer read lots.

1 john Hartley (1989) suggested that media producers create invisible fictions of their target audience.

2 Len Ang (1991) similarly argued that all media producers create imaginary entities of their target audience before creating a media product.

The average festival steel city goer

Gunther is a 35 year old male with a life goal of traveling the planet to see all the best festivals in the world he has been a passionate music fan all his life and listens to it in most of his spare time. Gunther has always enjoyed different types of music not sticking to the genre hes use to but moving on to different types of music as hes got older and musics evolved. Gunther gets paid well for his job as a English teacher and spends allot of time and money on all things musical and music related recently investing in a expensive drum kit and bass guitar for his personal hobby of learning different musical instruments. Gunther sometimes does solo gigs at bars and small venues not for the money but just for the fact that he can express his passion of music to other who may love it as much as he does. But aswell as doeing all this he gives to cancer charities and part time works in a nurcing home where he can look after the eldely. Gunther is yet to find someone who loves music as much as he does and apart from traveling the globe to see all the fantastic festivals he can he also wants to settle down and have a family and doing this may give him a advantage to find that special someone who can share his passion in everything music.

LO1 task 1: KTA4 : ASA and Copyright information

Copyright law

Copyright law is a legal concept, enacted by most governments, giving the creator of an original work exclusive rights to it as its theirs.

this means no one can copy or steal this idea as its not theirs.

Easily pirated media

  • Music
  • Films
  • T.V
  • Games
What is creative commons

It is a none profit organization devoted to expanding the range of creative works available for others to build upon legally and to share.

What is the ASA

The Advertising standards Authority is the independent regulator for advertising all media in the UK. The ASA use advertising codes for Advertising Practice written by Committees. The main focus of the ASA is act upon complaints and troubles from the public by taking action against advertisements that may have harmful, misleading or offensive advertisements.

The ASA intend to ensure that all advertisements are honest, reliable and overall genuine and can be presented to the public as a real advertisement should be. The ASA also have a council and a Senior Management team with the council being in charge of deciding if a piece of advertising has breached the code of being able to be shown to the public and the team being responsible  of setting the direction of the organization.

The ASA is funded by advertisements on arrangements that guarantees the ASA independence and is collected by the advertising standards and broadcast advertising standards.

The ASA work with independent experts and other regulators who have responsibility for looking after sectors more broadly and as the ASA regulate advertising across all sectors so its not unsurprising that they work with these people.

The ASA have been around since T.V commercial broadcasting started in 1955 and was controlled by legislation
